International Disabled Parking Permits in Australia
Holders of international disabled parking permits are permitted to use their permit in all Australian States and Territories with the exception of Victoria.
Victoria issues its own permit to international visitors to Australia with advanced notification. The period of validity is up to 3 months but an additional permit can be issued for stays longer than that.
The process is as follows:
1. Send a copy of your own home country disabled parking permit (both sides if applicable) to VicRoads by;
- Email: disabledparking@roads.vic.gov.au
- Mail: VicRoads

2. Provide the dates that you will be travelling in Victoria.
International temporary permits will be issued for the dates that the person will be in Victoria and can be issued for up to 3 months. If a person is intending to travel longer than 3 months, VicRoads can arrange for another permit to be issued
3. Provide an Australian address to send the temporary permit.
Vicroads ask for a postal address in Australia as normally they have not been given sufficient time to process the request for the international permit. They can send the permit to an applicants international home address, however you would need to allow 6-8 weeks to do this. An Australian address, reduces the turnaround time to normally 2 weeks (in some cases, it has only taken 2 days!
4. There is no charge for this service
